Like other Danish Embassies around the world the embassy in Bucharest is a green embassy.What does it mean? It means that we have decided to break with the tendency to ever increasing energy consumption in public institutions. In cooperation with the Danish Energy Saving Trust we will reduce our power consumption by 1.5% per year over the next three years.
The Trust is putting tools at our disposal to reach this goal. However, the most important tool is our own awareness of power saving opportunities. Air conditioners and computers will be turned off when they are not needed, energy efficient light pulps and ditto electrical equipment will be installed. In this way the Danish Embassies want to make a symbolic contribution, to the goals set by the World climate conference COP15 in Copenhagen in December 2009.
